Bed and Breakfast Papillon

We’d happily stay here again. Our apartment was simple but had everything we needed, with its own entrance and private terrace. There’s a garage right at the house, though the gate won’t work if you drive a Fiat500. The opening is wide enough otherwise. The landlady lives next door and was lovely. The view from the forecourt, looking toward the little chapel, is a dream.

The road up is steep and winding, which made me nervous, but the view at the top is amazing. There’s also a bus that goes up and down the mountain. Romana even offered to pick us up for free when we asked about a taxi fare, since she thought paying for one would be a waste. She did, and she’s a real Schumacher behind the wheel, and very funny too. She’s also a talented painter, with beautiful work all over the place. I’m sure she’ll be famous one day. When we arrived, she welcomed us with beer, a whole bottle of wine, and a plate of cheese and meat. The cats seem to know the routine, especially the grey one, who gives you all his love and attention before the goodies arrive 😂 The place is spacious and full of lovely details. After a long day, the little garden is a nice spot to sit and take in the view. Romana is a true angel and does everything to make you feel at home. Her English isn’t the best, but Google Translate worked, and we had fun communicating that way.

We’ll definitely come back. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, the location was great, and breakfast was exceptional. The hostess is lovely, and the whole stay was just a pleasure. One of the best B&Bs I’ve ever stayed in. Thank you, Romana!

The host was exceptionally friendly and really involved. Our room was cozy, with lovely attention to detail, and the garden was beautiful. It’s a peaceful spot with a great view over Lake Como. Just perfect.
