Tenuta Cascina Nuova

It’s a peaceful countryside spot, with the highway exit still close by. The farmhouse is huge and keeps its rustic character indoors too, and we got a really friendly welcome. They’re still getting some parts finished, but it’s already worth a stop.

Mauro and Silvia made us feel very welcome and were incredibly kind. My boyfriend and I spent one night at B&B Tenuta Cascina Nuova and had a wonderful stay. Breakfast came in an elegant dining room, with a generous spread of sweet and savory food, all high quality, plus plenty to drink, from coffee and tea to herbal teas and juices. The renovated property has several separate accommodations, each with its own bathroom, bedroom, and fully equipped kitchen. We’d highly recommend it if you’re after a rustic but elegant retreat.

The breakfast had lots of variety, plenty to eat, and options for people with food intolerances. Our room was warm and cozy, and the bed was comfortable, though the pillows less so. Anyone who loves nature should enjoy a stay in the Canavese hills, even if rain accompanied us through the whole day when we were there for a wedding in mid-May. Some interior finishes could be better, especially if you notice those details. I’d have landed on 4 stars based on the pros and cons, but my cousin, the groom, told me that 8-10 months earlier some rooms still had no flooring and the building needed a lot of work before it could host events of this size. The management deserves credit for the effort. There are still a few things to iron out, though I’m sure some have improved further over the last two months. Those efforts and sacrifices deserve the top score.

The garden is kept beautifully, and the whole place had a dreamlike feel. We chose Tenuta as the setting for our wedding, drawn by the magnificent property and its careful renovation, which preserves and brings out the traditions and style of our region without major changes. Valentina and I want to thank Mauro. He’s young and dedicated, and the care he puts into maintaining the property shows how passionate he is. He’s only been in the industry for a few years, but his kind manner and readiness to help make me think he has what it takes to become a great hotelier.
