The apartment was lovely, with comfortable beds and valley and mountain views from every room. Getting to Perugia was easy, too. Paola and Marco were wonderful hosts and gave us the best introduction to Umbria on our first visit. We needed a break from city life, and La Fonte, with nature all around and a pool, was just right. They greeted us with local food: honey, olive oil from the groves, fresh eggs, and homemade cake. Paola also prepared a fabulous meal for us. There are enough apartments for a group of 20 or more, so it would be a great place for a big gathering. They told us about a wedding earlier that year, and it sounded incredible, the venue must be perfect. Paola and Marco really are the best hosts. I highly recommend this Agriturismo and the region of Italy.

The welcome from Paola, Marco, and the whole La Fonte family is the best part. They're there when you need them without ever getting in the way, and that's why we keep returning year after year. Agriturismo La Fonte is wonderfully peaceful, with beautiful surroundings and plenty to see nearby and farther out. You can cool off in the pool after a summer day, or take one of the many walks on the grounds. The accommodation is very comfortable without being fussy, the kitchen is well stocked, and the beds make for a great night's sleep. And the full-circle views and sunsets over the hills are something else.

Our four kids loved the pool so much that it was hard to persuade them to leave it and visit the neighboring villages, towns, and wineries. We spent two wonderful weeks at La Fonte, staying in two of the houses, both pleasant and nicely decorated. The property is enchanting, beautifully maintained, surrounded by nature and olive groves, with breathtaking views. Staff brought us fresh vegetables, eggs, yogurt, and cakes every day, and we could help ourselves to the vegetable garden. Marco and Paola were extremely kind and helpful, doing everything they could for the six of us. They even arranged an Italian cooking lesson and dinner on our last day and recommended a horse-riding school. We often holiday in Italy, and La Fonte captures the Italian "dolce vita" perfectly.

From the terrace, the view is amazing, with just birds and deer to hear, and even fireflies at night. The apartments and the whole estate are beautiful and have everything you could want. We had a fabulous stay and will return. The hosts' dinner is well worth trying, delicious fresh food cooked at home.
