Sina Brufani

The room’s decor was pleasant, the staff were kind and attentive, breakfast had plenty of good-quality food, and the valley view was splendid. Still, my husband and I stayed during the last week of November 2025 and found that Sina Brufani no longer lived up to a five-star rating. It seems to have once been a prestigious hotel, but now feels more like a venue for city social events, with facilities and service that fall short. Renovation work had left the common areas noisy and neglected, especially around breakfast. There was construction debris in the corridors and equipment stored informally near our room. The reception is in a busy passageway with little welcome or privacy. It is just a couple of desks, and its impersonal design reminded me more of a government office than a luxury hotel. The elevators also looked worn, dated, and poorly maintained, and were very small. The electrical problems were serious. In our first room, all the lights kept going off on their own, leaving us in complete darkness for about fifteen minutes. After several complaints, we were moved to a larger room, but some parts of that room were still dim because nobody knew how to turn on the lights. The windows did little to block street sounds. A laundry truck parked outside to deliver and collect linens, waking us at 6:45 a.m. That was unacceptable for a hotel presenting itself as high-end.

Perugia’s historic Brufani Hotel is right in the Medieval City, surrounded by breathtaking sights. I loved the pool and saunas, and the room and exquisite food were wonderful, everything cooked perfectly. I also loved the intimate cleanser they use and would like to know who makes it so I can order some. The staff made me feel as if I were the only guest they were looking after. If you have a wish, they want to make it happen. The front desk team were superb and helped plan a day around Perugia, with plenty to do nearby or elsewhere in the city. It felt like being treated like royalty. I hated leaving!

We’ve been back to Sina Brufani for a second stay, and it surpassed what we expected again. My wife and I love the charm of the good old days in its beautiful historic building. The location is ideal, and the terrace view is stunning. The private garage was a big plus. Thanks to the staff who brought our car out each morning and parked it again in the evening. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and kept in excellent condition. I can’t remember the last time I saw hotel staff move beds to vacuum underneath. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent, served in a lovely room by a gracious, very professional lady. Highly recommended.

We spent four days here in October and were upgraded to a suite, which was really good. The views across Perugia and the countryside were fantastic. Food and service were excellent, and the staff were always helpful. Thanks to everyone.
