Hotel Bella Peschiera

Breakfast is continental, with plenty to choose from and lots of delicious homemade cakes. You can also get lunch and dinner here if you like, though there are plenty of places to eat in Peschiera, just a short walk into town. They're doing refurbishment work because the hotel could use a little sprucing up. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and always ready with advice about places to visit.

The location is handy, about a 10-minute walk to the lake and a little farther to town, and parking was easy. We had a family room on the third floor; both bedrooms were clean, modest but functional, with small balconies and a glimpse of the lake. The AC was a lifesaver. The pool is small, but with only 35 rooms it never felt crowded. The staff were amazing, especially the reception team, who spoke good English and were very friendly and helpful. Big thanks to Maria from Sicily and the tall guy whose name I didn't catch for teaching me Italian phrases and suggesting restaurants. Breakfast was a continental buffet with good coffee and pastries. We had a lovely week ❤️

Stefano was a wonderful waiter and helped make our vacation perfect. Everyone was very, VERY friendly and ready to help with anything, and the food was amazing. They even packed us breakfast for the road when we had to leave. Our room was fine, neither big nor too small, and we were glad it had a mini fridge. The air conditioning cooled it nicely for when we came back. We also had a pleasant balcony with a lake view. The pool was good and very clean.

We liked the location, but we won't return. A bad hailstorm hit the night we arrived and destroyed nearly all the pool furniture. I understand the logistical difficulty, but sharp pieces of plastic and glass were left in and around the pool for the next two days. Only five or six loungers remained, and some guests reserved them all day with towels and belongings while they went out. When I asked reception to monitor this or let guests share the few remaining facilities fairly, they brushed me off. We were on the top floor and the elevator was out all week. There was no hot water for the first two days. On three separate days, the hotel lobby couldn't get us a taxi and even suggested we try another hotel. We also booked trips through the hotel, but they forgot to arrange the paid pickup for one. We had to rush through two buses and a train; for the other trip we planned to take a taxi but had to cancel. The staff were nice overall, but too many things went wrong. They scoffed when we raised compensation, even though we'd spent over 250 on drinks at the hotel. At least a free drink would have been a reasonable gesture.
