San Benedetto Camping Relais

We stayed at this camping in mid-July and had an okay time. The location is lovely, with lots to do around lago di garda, but a few things at the camping were frustrating. We paid €140 to park our cars, yet had to hope we’d find a space. Meanwhile, the camping’s service car was parked so badly that it took up two spaces. The light was broken, and we were missing a few things. Update: I’m not sure how to respond to the reaction, but we did contact reception. We were met with a sigh and asked to fill out a checklist of the things we were missing. Someone said they’d bring them over, but nobody came, even though someone was always at the house because of the dog. We did try to communicate.

The YOUNG mobile home we stayed in was new and clean, and we knew the bedding costs before booking. They were in line with what we’ve paid at other campsites. Our family of four, with kids aged 10 and 12, had a fantastic holiday here. After reading the online reviews and complaints, we were glad to find our own experience was great. There was plenty of good food at prices similar to other restaurants in the area, with lots of choice. Water, wine, and ice cream were cheap. Paying €2 for a sunbed for the whole day felt like a bargain, and there were always some available. The Animation team, led by Phillipo, made the biggest difference for us. They showed our kids warmth and care every day. Special thanks to Caorla, Phillipo, Rebecca, and Defa. The nightly shows were fun and kept us entertained. Joining in makes it even better. A big Irish thank you for a magical holiday.

Once we were set up, things were okay, but the first pitch we were given was far too small. Nobody had asked how long our caravan was, and the replacement pitch was only just acceptable. The lakeside sanitary block is in very poor condition, although the other ones are fine. They should pay more attention to what customers need.

We had a wonderful stay at Village Camping San Benedetto Vecchio Mulino. The camp is peaceful and quiet at night, and the rooms are spacious and stay cool on hot summer days. There’s a large public pool for children and adults beside the restaurant, and the lake water is very clean, making for a lovely swim. The restaurant serves great food, and free WLAN is available. There’s plenty to do on site, including Karaoke, Mini Disco for the kids, Yoga, Pilates, and Comedy Night. It’s also easy to reach Peschiera del Garda from the camp. You can walk from the train station, and there’s a bus station nearby too. Public transport makes it easy to get to Sirmione or Peschiera, and the amusement parks are only a short trip away. The staff even arranged a free luggage shuttle from the train station for our whole school class. I’m especially grateful to Agata B., who helped me recover something I accidentally left behind when leaving in a hurry. She quickly found a simple way to send it back to me. I’ll definitely come back.
