San Benedetto di Lugana 3

Some reviews seem to expect luxury for very little money, but this is a great low-budget hotel. It was clean, the staff were friendly, and the pool was perfect. Breakfast felt luxurious, and drinks were very well priced 👌. It’s dog friendly too, with a big parking lot. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to feel welcome.

Breakfast here is genuinely good, and it’s an easy walk to the beach or grocery stores. Getting to Peschiera takes almost 40 minutes on foot, though. Buses run every 45 minutes, cost €3 per person, and take cash only. There’s another bus too, less often but very cheap. No buses run in the evening. A taxi to Peschiera costs [price not provided]. In our room, the AC took a long time to cool things down and had no timer, while the bathroom fan couldn’t be turned off.

The receptionist was nice and breakfast tasted good. Our room was small, but fine for a single night. I wouldn’t want to stay there for longer. It was neither great nor bad.

The staff were friendly, and the pool stayed open until 10 pm. Our room, though, was on the top floor and was the worst I’ve ever had: cramped and uncomfortable, with a tiny window in the roof. At €40-50 I wouldn’t have complained, but it cost twice that, which was too much.
