Agriturismo Le Colonne

The rooms were spacious and clean, and we got to eat strawberries and quinces straight from the trees while watching the olive harvest. The oil was top quality and organic. We also saw a wonderful, unforgettable sunrise from our bedroom window. This is a beautiful spot for anyone wanting to unwind in nature and enjoy a simple stay. There are six charming donkeys who love dry bread. The view is fantastic, with the whole Tuscan valley visible by day and distant lights at night that look like a nativity scene.

We stayed here during Lucca Comics and Games. The internet was practically unusable, and there were lots of bedbugs in the bedroom. We reported the problem to the owner, but it wasn’t resolved. The bathroom didn’t even have basic toiletries. We couldn’t sleep at all.

We felt very comfortable here, and Giulia and her husband were both lovely, friendly hosts who speak English. The accommodation is above Pescia, tucked quietly at the edge of the forest, with a priceless view. It also works well for motorcyclists, since you can park right in front of the house. There are several rooms and a very nice large pool, plus a restaurant within walking distance. Giulia cooked us delicious meals each evening, mostly using ingredients fresh from her garden. From here, it’s easy to get to Pisa, Florence, Siena, and the many smaller towns and wineries in Tuscany. A real insider tip!

We enjoyed this wonderful place as a family, with our dogs. Giulia and her family do everything they can to make travelers feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back.
