The hosts were super friendly, and the rifugio had some good food. Seems like a good spot for "wild camping".

We pitched a tent at the refuge, so I can’t really comment on the rooms. The place itself is beautiful, with a fantastic view, and Lorenzo was really friendly. We’ll definitely come back.

The food was excellent, and the rooms were nicely appointed. The location is stunning, overlooking the countryside, but the town of Pescina is still just a short walk away. They’re always available and ready to meet visitors’ needs.

The one downside is that there’s no shade. Otherwise, it’s an easy-to-reach, welcoming place with moderate prices, and a good base for walks and excursions. It has a beautiful view of the civic tower and the Avezzano plain.

It was just me, an incredible landscape, three affectionate dogs, and a cat with her kittens 😺. I arrived on a Monday when the shelter was supposed to be closed, but luckily I ran into one of the guys who runs it. He kindly offered me a place to sleep in my tent for the night and use the restrooms.
