Cascina Tumas Orta Lake

Our three nights here were wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable, and the balcony view was splendid, a lovely place to start the day with coffee. The owners were so friendly and happy to suggest how to spend our time around Lake Orta. We’d love to come back.

We first booked three nights at Cascina Tumas and ended up staying the whole week. I have no complaints. We were in the Orta apartment, a studio that’s very well designed, like the rest of the complex. It was modern, nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, and had everything we might need. The balcony had a table where we ate breakfast, with an unbeatable view. The property is peaceful, right by the lake, with a well-kept grassy patio and chaise longues for relaxing, and easy access to the water. Parking was very close, and there’s a lift and facilities for disabled guests too. The owner and her niece were both kind. When we arrived, she gave us well-organized information about the area. We’ll be back!

We had a fantastic stay and are sure to come back. Carolina and Francesca were helpful from the minute we arrived, sharing brochures and tips about the island and the surrounding area. They also got our shower issue fixed very quickly. Our apartment had huge windows facing the lake, so that was the view we woke up to each day. On the other side of the room there was a small balcony with a mountain view. The kayak and SUP rentals were a nice extra. There’s no restaurant on site, but the kitchen has everything, and several places to eat are within about a 15-minute walk.

The lake view from this beautiful apartment was fantastic. A balcony would have made the place perfect. The quality of what’s provided is excellent, including the Alessi crockery, but only salt and pepper were supplied. A few basics like olive oil would’ve been handy, since we had to buy everything ourselves. We also had to figure out how to use the induction hob, so simple instructions would help. The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor because of its design, though it wasn’t a major problem.
