Hotel Alpenblick

The balcony looks out over a stunning Alpine landscape, and the rooms are modern, comfortable, and very clean. We felt welcome right away thanks to the friendly way Hotel Alpenblick is run. There’s also a varied, excellent choice of food.

I left a day early because I couldn’t face another night there, and nobody even asked why. They still took the money. The coldness and indifference were unlike anything I’ve experienced. I was told that beds in that area are like this. I’m attaching photos. Would you be able to sleep in a hotel like that? They shouldn’t be allowed to stay open with people sleeping on mattress toppers. The room was tiny, and a little table blocked access to one side of the bed. There weren’t any sheets on it. I’ve never had that happen in a hotel before. When I complained that I wouldn’t sleep on a mattress pad, they brought a cot sheet for the large bed and a small duvet that barely covered me if I moved a leg. When I asked for sheets, they put them on the bed and left me to make it myself. Every three-star hotel has sheets! There was no bidet in the bathroom, and I could only use the toilet by shutting the door so tightly that I couldn’t move to reach a towel. Breakfast had no croissants, just elaborate pastries. There was no mini-fridge either, so in summer I ended up drinking hot water during the night.

We’d happily return. It’s a family-friendly place, run with real warmth and friendliness. The service was great, the rooms were very clean, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. We recommend it 100%.

The breakfast was generous and had plenty of variety, and our room had attractive wood furnishings, carpet, and a mountain view. The bathroom seemed new but had no bidet. The wellness area was disappointing: the sauna was tiny, there was an infrared cabin, and the showers had no hot water. An older woman wandered around naked in the sauna. The pool was small and cold, with noisy children around. There was no soap in the bathroom apart from two shower gel sachets on the first day. The owner didn’t come across as much of a hotelier. We were staying on breakfast only and asked to eat at the restaurant, but were told it was reserved for half-board guests. A place run this way seems likely to close.
