Casa Del Profumo

We had a really good stay. Our hostess greeted us at the door and made us feel at home, and there was a secure place to keep our bikes. The room was bright and spotless, and the kitchen had enough equipment for us to eat in. A grocery store is nearby too. The only tricky part was finding the place, since the sign on the door is quite small.

The condition of the B&B was poor: it was below average, with dirt, old furniture, no window blinds, and lots of ants. But the way we were treated made the stay much worse. Before arriving, we got a brief message asking us to call five minutes out. It gave a different street for the parking spot, but didn't say hello or please. The host had claimed on Booking that parking was available on site, yet there was none. We had mentioned in our reservation message that we were traveling with a cat and a one-year-old baby, so parking mattered to us. When we called as instructed, with the GPS showing five minutes away, we asked if we could unload outside. The owner sounded annoyed and told us the B&B was in a ZTL, where cars are not allowed to reach it. That hadn't been mentioned on Booking either. We had to use the paid parking he suggested, an eight-minute walk away, then carry our baby, stroller, cat and litter box, and suitcases through the heat. When we arrived, there were four missed calls from the owner. I called back and he repeatedly insulted me for being “late,” saying his wife had waited 25 minutes. I tried to explain that the bad information had caused the delay, but he shouted over me, so I hung up. His wife kindly helped us check in. After that, he called again and insulted me once more. I reported him to Booking. I've never experienced such disgusting and shameful treatment. This was by far the worst B&B I've stayed at. I can't put into words how awful it was.

Right in the heart of Piacenza, this place is super cute, clean, and has a great breakfast. Check-in came with a lovely surprise too. Just keep the ZTL in mind if you're driving, since you'll need to park about a five-minute walk away.

It felt completely unwelcoming. If you want someone to greet you warmly, this isn't the place. Horrible!
