Idea Hotel Piacenza

Parking right in front of the hotel was easy, and the price is why I might recommend it for a short stay. The room was clean, but I didn't feel very comfortable. The door was really hard to open, and the hotel needs renovating. Breakfast was poor, with hardly any choice and nothing fresh. The staff seemed a little uninterested to me, though maybe they don't have much say over things themselves.

The Wi-Fi was extremely bad, and we were trying to get a refund. The receptionist wouldn't return our money or help us cancel through the site. We were willing to pay the extra, but he said he didn't want us there because we had recorded him. We deleted the video, and then he let us stay if we paid another 24 euros. The receptionist was Roberto, a man with curly brown hair. He was rude and seemed agitated, rushing us to pay and accusing us of scamming him. When we tried to film for proof, he got angry and said we couldn't record him. He seemed scared when we asked his name and wanted to keep filming, then started apologizing. He wouldn't call his supervisor and kept walking away when we tried to record. He said he'd call the police, but called his friend instead and pretended it was the police. It wasn't. He even hit my family. I have it recorded. The real police came, and they understood us.

My son spent three nights at this hotel and came away covered in bed bug bites. It was a horrible experience. The hotel didn't even offer an apology. Avoid it at all costs. 🤬

The place was already expensive for the service and quality, and it was in the middle of renovation. The work was happening all over instead of closing off one floor at a time. It felt rundown and dirty, with broken things around. The shower had no door and had mold.
