The outdoor hot pool and its breathtaking view were a highlight, and dinner in the frescoed dining room was memorable too. Carlo told us about the convent's history and the stories behind the frescoes, which made it easy to imagine the friars who once lived there. Convento San Bartomeleo is a former friars' convent, restored with great care to keep its original spirit while adding modern comforts. It felt peaceful, authentic, and full of history from the moment we arrived. The rooms are simple, spotless, and thoughtfully arranged, with a quiet elegance rather than anything excessive. The food was just as memorable as the setting. We left relaxed, inspired, and grateful for a magical weekend. This is more than a place to stay, it's an experience full of history, beauty, and warmth.

The convent has such a distinctive feel as a former monastery, with its history and character still intact after a beautiful renovation. We felt calm and relaxed as soon as we arrived. The hot pool at sunset, with that breathtaking view, was the highlight. We'd love to return.

The staff welcomed us so warmly and made us feel at home in this unusual 800-year-old monastery. It's within walking distance of the old centre and several very decent restaurants and cafes. For vineyards and other attractions, you'll need to go elsewhere, and a car is best. Still, this hospitable, unique hotel made for an unbelievable stay in Tuscany. Highly recommended!

The restaurant hall is one of a kind, and the rooms, courtyard, swimming area, and views were all outstanding. The monastery architecture felt authentic and unlike anything I've seen before, a real hidden gem. The restaurant meal was only okay, though. We ordered a bottle of wine that was opened and left on the table, dirty dishes stayed there throughout dinner, and one of our dishes was forgotten. The portions and menu choices were disappointing too. Having an omelette as a main course felt unusual to me.

The family who runs the place made our stay, especially Mariana, who was professional, kind, and friendly. It's one of the nicest places I've stayed abroad. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, and the outdoor pool and jacuzzi have a marvellous valley view. There are lots of activities nearby and plenty of nice villages to visit. I'd come back.
