The restaurant is a highlight, so book ahead. We loved the food, the helpful and friendly staff, and those incredible views from the pool. It’s peaceful here, away from the tourist crowds, and we’d return to Lake Como just to stay at TreTerre. One thing to know: the drive up is winding and narrow, and you’re close to a forest.

The setting is gorgeous, and the staff were friendly. It’s a good place to unwind in nature, away from city noise, but it didn’t feel worth the price to me. Getting there is difficult even by car, and restaurants, shops, and nightlife are about a 30-minute drive away. Breakfast is very basic, and hot dishes may take 20-30 minutes.

We mostly stayed at the property, heading out now and then to hike up the mountain or take a short trip into town. The place matched what I wanted from the trip: somewhere quiet and scenic in the mountains. My best friend and I booked after seeing the good online reviews, and our rooms were right next to each other. Everything exceeded my expectations. The people looking after us were fantastic. They were cheerful and happy to chat, while also knowing when to leave us alone to relax. It was cold during our stay, but the pool was warm. I’m not much of a pool person, though I’d call it fantastic if I were. It was comfortable and peaceful, just right for solitude or spending time building your thoughts or relationships. On Sunday, we drove our rental car straight to the airport in Milan, about an hour and 20 minutes away.

Rogerio was especially lovely and gave us helpful directions for local experiences and places to visit. The staff were very helpful, and the restaurant served fine food made with fresh, local ingredients. We had a very good stay: beautiful scenery with views of both the mountains and the lake. Highly recommended!
