Giorgio, the owner, was so kind and went out of his way to make our two nights enjoyable. He had good recommendations for places to eat and visit, and they all worked out perfectly. We also loved the included breakfast. The hotel is in peaceful Piano di Sorrento, right beside Sorrento, so it’s a quieter spot away from the crowds. The station is about a five-minute walk away, and two stops and €1.50 got us into central Sorrento. Gioì Hotel had only opened in 2025, and everything felt new and thoughtfully designed. Our room was spotless, comfortable and equipped with modern amenities. Excellent hospitality and a great location. We’d definitely stay again.
With just 9 rooms, the hotel feels personal and stays quieter, with more attention for each guest. The rooms were spacious, clean and well kept. Gio and the staff were friendly and made sure we had what we needed, along with useful tips for first-time visitors. It’s in a calmer part of Sorrento, right by the train for an easy ride downtown. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
The staff were so friendly and dependable, and did their best to sort out anything we needed. We booked two different room types for our two nights, and they coordinated the switch smoothly. After checkout, a snag with our travel plans came up, and the owner kindly even helped take our luggage to the train station. The room was spacious, clean, nicely decorated, and felt safe and comfortable. It was also close to Piano station. There were drinks and snacks waiting in the room, and breakfast was delicious. We really appreciated the hospitality and would choose this place again.
We stayed four nights in May, and leaving was hard. The hotel is easily the cleanest and nicest room I’ve stayed in, with a modern look, comfy bed, plenty of space and daylight, and a spotless bathroom with a full sink and shower area plus a blowdryer for the girls. Even the hallways look great. There’s an outdoor sitting area with breakfast tables and comfy benches and chairs. The location might give some people pause, but it worked perfectly for us. We were in a quiet area away from Sorrento’s busy tourist center, with a grocery store five minutes away. The Piano di Sorrento station is only a two-minute walk; the main Sorrento station is two stops and about eight minutes away. Trains come every 35 minutes and cost a couple of euros each way. Gio left the schedule in our room. The Go EAV app gives accurate updates, useful when trains run a little late. We didn’t mind being outside the main town, and it was worth that small tradeoff for the quality. Breakfast ran roughly 8-10:30, though Gio said to speak up if the timing was a concern. Ilaria, the cook, was fantastic. She made fresh eggs, meats, fruit, and homemade cakes, and Gio even offered to have sandwiches made for us to take to the beach. Gio himself made the stay special. He showed us around and explained everything when we arrived. He’s a real gentleman, incredibly kind and attentive. Within ten minutes he’d asked about our plans for the next day. We needed to leave around 8 for the ferry to Capri and would miss breakfast, so he arranged for the cook to come in early. He checked in about our plans each day, sent useful information on WhatsApp and recommended great restaurants. Whenever we needed help, he was there. He left a lasting impression in just a short time. The value was hard to beat. I can’t think of a bad thing to say about our stay, and the price felt very reasonable for what we got. If we return, this is where we’ll stay. Thanks, Gio, for a great experience. My girlfriend and I had the best hotel stay I can remember. I can see why it gets such positive reviews.
Piano di Sorrento was a lovely place to stay, quieter and less touristy than Sorrento itself but close enough to visit. At Gioì Hotel, everything was modern and clean, and our room had all we needed, including a minibar. The included breakfast was freshly made and very good. Giorgio was friendly and so helpful, with good local restaurant and activity suggestions. He made sure we were comfortable and even bought us chocolate. I’d highly recommend it.
