B&B Ruggero I di Sicilia

The location is right in the center, which is the one positive. The house wasn't clean in several places, and when I pulled back the sheets to go to bed, there were stains, hair, and all sorts of fur. I'll leave it at that.

The smell hits you as soon as you enter, and the cleanliness throughout the property, including the rooms, is lacking. The owner was also impossible to reach at check-in, which was absurd. I was drawn here by the price and perhaps the other reviews, but I regret spending my money on it. What other sites say is completely false. Avoid this terrible B&B! 🤮

The owners tried to change what we'd agreed to pay, both for the room and the city tourist tax. On top of that, the customer service was unprofessional and poorly timed. The owner showed up several times and tried to enter the room while guests were still in it. I wouldn't recommend it.

We first ran into a hot water problem after arriving, though the manager eventually fixed it. There was no receipt for the cash payment. Breakfast was another issue: the B&B owner said we could take what we wanted, so I checked with the bar owner whether we owed anything. It turned out the breakfast only covered a cappuccino and a croissant, and we paid extra for anything else. The owner also handed us tickets for a tasting he was supposedly offering, but the bar manager was offering it to everyone. What a show-off!
