The rooms are on the small side, but the mattresses are new and the linen is cleaned every day. I stayed on full board: breakfast is simple, and lunch and dinner come in generous, varied portions. The fresh first courses are followed by meat, fish, fried food, and cheese, then fruit and excellent homemade desserts. The food is delicious, and the hotel’s hospitality, help, and cleanliness are all very good. It’s a family-run 3-star hotel, with owners who are extremely kind and helpful. Ary gave attentive service, and Antonietta is at the heart of the kitchen. The sea is close, with a beautiful free beach and an affordable private one. Pietra center and Loano are both a short walk away, making it well suited to families. There are some drawbacks: a busy main road nearby stays noisy at night, and there’s also a hospital with helicopter rescue service and a railway line along the coast. The rooms don’t have air conditioning, though I wasn’t hot even with 35-degree weather outside. With the window open, I slept well, but if noise keeps you awake, bring earplugs.

The location is fantastic, with a sea view and close to Santa Corona hospital, the station, and the town center. But the old windows let in everything from the noisy area, and the hotel itself feels badly neglected. My room was small, which I could have overlooked, but it was stuffy, smelled bad, had no air conditioning or minibar, and the hygiene was awful. The sheets were dirty. It also wasn’t suitable for wheelchair users or people with disabilities. Breakfast was sad and meager. After lunch on the first day, I wouldn’t eat there again. The 82-year-old cook clearly puts in effort, but maybe it’s time for her to retire. Reception was a zero: communication was unclear, confusing, and rude. It doesn’t deserve a 3-star rating. I felt ripped off after paying, since the prices were far too high for the poor service. Maybe the local health authority should inspect it. I don’t recommend this place.

Being directly across from Santa Corona Hospital has made it possible for me and other guests in the same situation to visit our hospitalized family members every day without driving or walking miles. That kind of help is priceless. Since April 30th, I’ve been staying almost continuously at this family-run hotel for a relative’s health, and I couldn’t have asked for more: affordable rates, friendly service, simple, authentic food, free Wi-Fi, and a welcome that feels like home. I’ll keep telling Maria, her family, and the whole hotel staff, “Thank goodness you’re here!” I believe this hotel, with this kind of family management, should keep operating. Pietra Ligure has seen small hotels close in favor of bigger or more luxurious places, often too expensive for most people and much farther from the hospital. It’s sad that La Milanese may soon close because the building’s owner hasn’t renewed the lease. In my view, that would take away a local service that’s invaluable to the hospital.

There’s plenty of free parking right in front, and the staff are very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The home-cooked meals are delicious and suit all tastes, while the prices are absolutely reasonable. It’s a family-run hotel just steps from the beach, with comfortable rooms and sea views, very close by. A pleasant walk takes you to the town center, waterfront promenade, shops, and attractions. Congratulations!
