We’d stayed at Residence la Corte del Sole every year for five years, for one or two weeks in June or August. We had no issue with the other guests’ comments, the rooms, or the privacy and quiet before this year, when the treatment we received was unacceptable. After the terrible weather from August 16th to 23rd, we cancelled the second week. We knew the weather wasn’t the residence’s fault and didn’t expect the €700.00 back, but hoped for some acknowledgment of our five-year-old son’s stay. I thought even a €30.00 refund for utilities and the linens we missed in the second week would have been a kind gesture. Instead, what I saw was greed and a lack of understanding of hospitality. The weather was the main reason we left, but there were plenty of problems with the apartment and grounds too. The refrigerator never got cold enough, and its compressor ran all night. It was on a slope with a jammed door, the same unresolved issue from last year that had already caused my daughter to hit her forehead in April. The washing machine wouldn’t rinse or spin, a problem we’d also had in this apartment the year before. There was a leak in the bedroom wall facing the street, with creaking sounds all night. The neighbors had a dog and two canaries, even though the rules say pets are accepted at management’s discretion. I can understand one pet, but not three in one apartment. Laundry was washed and hung on a fence between a vacant lot and the parking area, and tiles had been left on the terraces. I attached photos of those. One bicycle had a saddle detached from the frame, and another had a saddle that rocked back and forth. We won’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend the residence for these reasons. At €4,000.00 a month, you can find much better. Check the distances carefully too: I read that the sea was 700 meters away and the town center 800 meters, but by car they’re actually 1.1 km and 1.4 km away. Anyone can check with Google Maps. Maybe the reviewer meant as the crow flies, in which case, bring a glider. Enjoy your stay somewhere else, obviously.
