Basic breakfast and cooking supplies were there for us, too. The tiny apartment was immaculate and brand new, right in the heart of the village. It has two bedrooms, one downstairs and the other up a ladder.

That bed was a real highlight for me. I have back problems, but I slept better there than anywhere else. Al Vico Primo felt like a home, not just a B&B, and my husband and I loved using it as our base for a weekend in Pietrapertosa. The place has a distinctive rustic but modern feel, with a kitchen, heating, Wi-Fi, TV, a brand-new bedroom and bathroom, plenty of breakfast choices, and a small welcome gift. Everything was impeccably clean, and the area was quiet and private. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the guest book for leaving a thoughtful note is a lovely touch. We booked through Booking.com. The owner was very available by WhatsApp and phone, and was incredibly efficient at helping us with transport, even though we were new to the area and its maze of narrow streets and houses. If we come back to the area, we'll definitely stay again!
