Il duomo suites

The fresh bakery selection in the bar downstairs is a real plus. Inside, though, it feels a little IKEAish, and the piazza noise can disturb your sleep since the windows need double glazing and the rooms aren't soundproof. Parking can be difficult when Pietrasanta is busy. The overflow car park behind the station may be your best bet, but it's full of potholes that could damage a low car.

The staff were so kind, and breakfast was excellent. Our suite was beautifully decorated and luxurious, with a view of the Duomo. It was a wonderful stay in one of the best places I've been, and the location was perfect.

Pets are welcome here and are well cared for, which was another lovely surprise. The room had a great size and style, feeling new, elegant, and cozy all at once. The owners' pastry shop is just downstairs, so breakfast is amazing and included, and you're right in the central square of this exquisite little town. There is parking for private cars, but check with the hotel before driving into the "car free" zone so you can reach the nearby parking. We nearly got fined, but the hotel kindly took care of it for us.

Breakfast had a wonderful choice of pastries, and parking at the train station a few hundred meters away was free. Our room was comfortable, with a good bed and a shower that got hot straight away. It was modern and spacious, right on the piazza beside the cathedral, upscale shops, galleries, and public art. For a beach holiday, it felt like being Italian rather than a foreign tourist, and the beach is only a short drive away.
