Erica and Massimo made us feel so welcome and looked after. The house has charm in every corner, with Erica's beautiful decorating touch and lovely sculptures throughout the house and garden. The breakfast buffet was stunning, with delicious local treats. Lemons guest house is full of art and architecture, and it's a great base for visiting the beautiful nearby towns. My only complaint is that after four days, I had to leave.

Breakfast was excellent and generous, served in a genuinely pleasant garden. Parking takes a bit of luck: there are spaces on the street if you can find one. The rooms are spacious, in a quiet, relaxing setting, but the price of €150/night for a double room felt poor value for the standard of service, especially in an already expensive tourist area like Versilia. The period villa is fantastic, with beautiful, unusual furnishings, though practicality seems to have come second. There’s very little counter space in either the bedroom or bathroom, no bidet, and the small, half-open shower is sure to splash the rest of the bathroom. The bed and mattress are springy, so watch your back. Only one of the three windows has a mosquito net. Air conditioning is available, though the basic climate is very cool. There’s no minibar, and the Wi-Fi in the room is unreliable. With the weak phone signal too, that made the stay uncomfortable.

We had an excellent breakfast and the location was quiet, with spacious rooms. Still, it felt expensive and impractical for the level of service, even taking into account that Versilia isn't a cheap tourist destination. Wi-Fi was practically nonexistent. Street parking in front is possible when a space is available, though it’s practically under a no-parking sign. There’s also a public lot farther down the street, not too far away, but inconvenient for unloading luggage or arriving at night.

The staff were extremely kind and helpful. I stayed at the end of August and found a warm, familiar atmosphere in a beautifully furnished 19th-century villa. Compliments to the owners.

The B&B is fantastic, and Massimo, the owner, was incredibly kind and welcoming. He suggested places to visit and distinctive restaurants where we ate really well. We’ll definitely return.
