Vincenzo answered my first questions quickly. The apartment is in the same building where he lives. It's spacious and has a working kitchen, plenty of storage, and a washing machine. Nothing fancy, just perfectly normal and comfortable. There's a parking spot right outside, and the balcony on one side has a spectacular view of Mt. Vesuvius by day and night. A few restaurants, bakeries, and grocery stores are within a 10 min drive. If you're driving, check the area before heading over, since the turn onto via Pendino is easy to miss if you aren't watching your GPS. We found it a perfect base for visiting Pompei, Sorrento, and the Amalfi coast. I'll definitely come back.

The family running the apartment were very welcoming and friendly. Inside, it's roomy and comfortable, and the huge balcony has spectacular views of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. It is somewhat tucked away and secluded, though whether that matters depends on what you want to do and see nearby.

Raffaella gave us a very warm welcome, and the apartment's one-of-a-kind view of Mount Vesuvius was a highlight. It's spacious, clean, and has everything you need. A word of warning for arrival: don't trust your GPS, or you may end up where the road stops in the mountains. Castellammare is an 18-minute drive down. We'll remember this wonderful week in July 2018. Nore + Michael

Such a lovely week, and the owners were sweet and welcoming 😊 The pool's a little small, but it works for both accommodations, and we rarely used it at the same time.
