Residence Rosa

The terrace view of the Aeolian Islands was lovely, and after the first night, everything was fine. Hot water, a clean room, fresh sheets and towels. But that first night, we slept with the penguins, it was freezing.

The sea nearby is spectacular. The residence is well cared for, clean, and comfortable, and the location is beautiful. The owner is friendly and always available.

The residence is right on Highway 113, the road to Messina. For parking, go to the windows of the Cassarà furniture store and use the large free lot on the other side of the building, about 3,000 square meters. There are side stairs from the lot; if the furniture store is open, you can ask whether they’ll let you pass through. Then return to the Highway 113 parking area by the windows. The entrance is on the left. Ring the intercom and the clerk will come up with your room. There’s an elevator, so wheelchairs, strollers and other items are no problem. It’s 2 meters wide, around 3 meters deep and 2 meters high. Across from the big lot is a movie theater, with a restaurant next to it. Head down the street from there and you’ll find bars, ice cream shops, a great pizza place and more. Keep going past the lovely church and you’ll reach the Carrefour. Across from the Caterpillar mechanical shovels is OASI, a restaurant/pizzeria. I had pasta with sardines (150g), fried calamari, bread, salad, and, if you like, 1/4 cup of wine and fedda i muluni (a kind of pasta). The chef is even from Palermo. I’ve heard food is good wherever you go here. Come try it, you won’t go wrong.

It feels welcoming, looks good, and is clean. The place has everything you could need in a home.
