Grand Hotel Duomo

Reception staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was okay, nothing special, but there was plenty of it. We didn't try the restaurant because there are so many places right outside. The hotel is about a gentle three-minute walk from the tower and museums, so it's very well positioned. There's a big bed, a lovely bath and shower, and a good TV if you want it. But it's all a bit worn. It must have been an extremely grand hotel many years ago. Calling it old charm is probably the kindest way to describe it now. Worth a stay, as long as you don't expect luxury.

The location is truly perfect, and the hotel is very clean. The breakfast is limited but good, and the staff are friendly. Still, I didn't sleep at all for three nights. Street noise was so loud it felt like people were in the room with me, and I could hear what the person above and the one next door were doing. The mattress and pillows were very hard too. The rooms are poorly equipped, with no kettle or coffee machine.

My room was very clean, which is the only reason I'm giving three stars. I booked a double room, but when I arrived I was given two single beds. The hotel offered no fix, adjustment, or price reduction, which was disappointing and affected the stay. Better attention to reservations and customer service could have made it much better.

The rooms were nice and clean, with daily housekeeping. The hotel is about 250 meters from the Tower. If the rooftop bar opened at 16 instead of 18, this would've been five stars all the way.
