Piero Tallarico is a big part of what makes this place special. I met the man of the house and found him laid-back and easygoing, always smiling. He's a real book lover, too. The house and rooms are fantastic, clean, charming, and cozy. I especially loved the breakfast room and the garden of Eden. I just wish there were more homemade options at breakfast, since so much of what was served was ready-made and not organic. It's a lovely place to stay, with easy access to almost everything and a genuine feel to the surroundings. The streets were clean, and the river was beautiful, with no litter around it. I highly recommend it. Say hello to Piero Tallarico, a five-star guy.

I was glad to find a pet-friendly place in Pisa, since there aren't many. But the A/C was turned off overnight in mid-July, when it was 36 degrees. I woke up drenched in sweat. Other reviews seem to mention the same issue.

January was bitterly cold, and the owner had the heater capped at 21 degrees and didn't turn it on for a long time. Hot water was the only warm thing there. I needed an extra blanket, long socks, pants, and a sweater, and still couldn't stay warm in bed. My face was so cold I had to cover it with the blanket. The breakfast was a joke, and the hand towels smelled. I could go on. Spending even one night there was a nightmare, one of the worst I've had.

We stayed in this lovely guest house in a peaceful neighborhood. The room was nice and very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, and they even let us have a quick coffee at 5.00 am before we left for the airport. Good value for money.
