La Dimora del Generale

The room was clean and the location was great. The late check-in fee, though, turned into a really absurd experience. We’d been told there would be an extra charge, but on arrival we got a message saying we wouldn’t be let into the apartment unless we paid through some random payment app. It was self check-in with a code, so no staff member even came to meet us, despite the fee. That’s how they make money, I guess. We’d paid for breakfast, but on the first morning they said we hadn’t ordered a croissant the day before, even though we weren’t there. They said we could only have eggs, so we ordered croissants for the next day. When we arrived that morning, staff said they didn’t have the ones we ordered and gave us different croissants that were clearly not fresh. The funniest part was ordering cappuccino and getting Nescafe 3in1. For 8€, we got an old, chewy croissant and instant coffee. I don’t recommend breakfast. You can get a nice fresh croissant and cappuccino made with real milk and coffee beans just a few meters away for 4-5€.
