Hotel Toscana Ambassador

I don't know how this place gets 4 stars, maybe out of 10. There were stains all over the room, including on the pillowcase, and the toilet dripped all night. Breakfast was limited and disgusting: cold sausages, hard-boiled eggs, and packaged crackers. The hotel key certainly seems to be from the 90s.

The floor was so dirty that my feet turned black, and the blanket wasn’t clean either. There were no sandals in the room. We also had no water, despite the receptionist saying it was available, and there wasn’t a phone or kettle. Breakfast had little variety, and they weren’t ready to accommodate tourist groups. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It felt like a one-star hotel, even though they claim it’s four stars.

The lobby looked much better than the rooms. Ours was dirty, the floor was grimy, the fridge had mold, and the bathroom was motel standard. When I asked about water, I was told it was included if it was in the room. There was none, so bring coins for the vending machine. There’s also a supermarket nearby. If you’re on a budget and just need somewhere to rest, it may be fine. For me, it was the worst hotel we stayed at in Italy.

But the hotel calls itself a local four-star place, which doesn’t match the international standard we know. The breakfast selection was poor, just sausage strips, scrambled eggs, bread, and cornflakes. Staff only let us eat at our allocated time and insisted we return to our room and come back later, even though the dining area was basically empty. The room was average, with a traditional key for the door and very poor sound insulation, especially through the connecting-room doors.
