Breakfast comes with a sea view from the terrace, though getting up there means tackling another steep, narrow flight of stairs. The rooms are reached by stairs too, so keep that in mind. From our balcony we could see the water and hear the buskers below, which was lovely when they were good. Elena went out of her way to find freshly baked gluten-free food for my coeliac husband. We appreciated that so much, especially since only one other place in Italy had managed it. She also sorted us out with restaurant and swimming tips, booked a great boat trip and helped arrange a Tuktuk driver. Elena has made a beautiful, welcoming place in Polignano. Thanks to her, Elena 2, Samantha and the kitchen lady for looking after us.

That breakfast terrace was so lovely I could happily have spent the whole Polignano stay sitting there. The food was fresh, local and dairy free, and I wish we'd had longer to try more of it. Our room was clean and neat, with AC and a private balcony, and the house is right in the city center with a sea view. In the morning you can hear local musicians playing below the window. Elena sent detailed directions before we arrived and plenty of helpful local suggestions for food, beaches and markets. She was such a kind host, and the place really felt like home. I can't wait to come back to A Casa di Elena.

That sea view was breathtaking at any hour, day or night. A Casa di Elena was another lovely surprise in Polignano, with a spot in the historic centre that worked perfectly for our excursions. Booking was easy, and Elena answered my questions about parking and check-in quickly. She pays such close personal attention to even the little things that we felt like we were staying with friends, in a home away from home. Highly recommended!

We spent two amazing days in Elana's little house, with a balcony overlooking the sea and a stunning view. I can't thank Elana enough for how warmly she welcomed us and helped with everything we asked, from buying tickets to giving recommendations and more. I'd recommend staying at Elana's place to anyone coming to Poliano a Mare.
