Augusta Trulli Resort

The pool and little vegetable garden were my favorite parts, and you can see how much care goes into looking after the whole place. It feels peaceful and lovely for a break, while still being well placed for exploring nearby. Our host and Stefania were warm and helpful, and we had everything we needed. We felt right at home.

We had a kitchen and outdoor terrace in our accommodation, and the resort grounds and pool were beautiful. I only wish we'd booked a longer stay. We reserved directly, and the staff were so accommodating. I mentioned my gluten intolerance ahead of time, and they had specific gluten-free breakfast items ready. We drove to Monopoli for lunch and brought takeaway back to reheat for dinner. When our car wouldn't start the next morning, Giovanni got it going with a jump in about five minutes. Thanks, Giovanni!

The free parking was a real bonus, and having a car made it easy to see the region. Polignano'Mare, Monopoli, Ostuni, Aberbello and plenty of other places are close by. The property itself was a peaceful, charming base, with lovely rooms, a pool, beautiful landscaping and great staff. We've stayed in hotels in more than 40 countries, and this is a place we'd happily return to next time we're in Puglia.

The pool area, with its loungers and beanbags, was a lovely place to unwind in peace. Federica and her sister served a delicious breakfast and took care of all our food and drink needs. I also enjoyed chatting with Federica in English about La Puglia, its traditions and culture. Nico, the owner's son, was waiting for us to check in and explained the property in very good English. The resort made a beautiful first impression: carefully landscaped grounds with mature olive trees, flowers in pots, stone paths and neat greenery around the buildings. Rosemary bushes were shaped and lined along the paths, and some stone buildings had upper-floor terraces overlooking vegetables, eggplants, green peppers and herbs. The decor throughout was pretty, comfortable and inviting. It was a perfect beginning to our trip to La Puglia. We loved the place! Finding it was a little confusing because Google showed a few alternatives. Our first base in La Puglia was Augusta Trulli Resort, on June 29.
