B&B Cave Canem Pompei

Just great.

The breakfast was excellent, served at a cafe very close by. The room felt welcoming and was very clean, including the private bathroom. There’s free WiFi and air conditioning too. The staff were capable and available at any time. The property is close to both the excavations and the sanctuary. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Pompeii.

We were woken by mistake at 7:30, and the bathroom was awful: no toilet seat, and the hand-washing water came out painfully slowly. The room itself was nothing special, but we could manage it. When we arrived, we called the manager as requested seven times without an answer, then he texted, "Tell me." For what we paid, I slept much better in a room at the three-star hotel next door on the same street, even for less money. Absolutely would not recommend.

Peppe welcomed us with an aperitif and was a very charming host. He suggested several Pompeii itineraries: start at the Campanile for a view of the ruins from above, then the basilica, the Pompeii excavations, Mount Vesuvius, and finally the Sorrento coast. Breakfast comes to your room on a trolley and is put together with lovely attention to detail. It’s easy to get around by public transport, and the place is just steps from the sanctuary and excavation entrance. I recommend it.
