Grand Hotel Royal

I stayed at Grand Hotel Royal last year and really enjoyed being there. It’s well placed in Pompei, just a short walk from both the ruins and the train station, so getting around was easy. There’s a little garden where you can relax, too. The hotel has a beautiful classic style, and my room was clean and comfortable, with a nice bed and good air conditioning. Staff were friendly and helpful, always ready with answers or advice. Breakfast was straightforward but tasty, with fresh pastries, fruit, and coffee. The only small drawback was that Wi-Fi in the room didn’t always work well. I’d stay again!

The hotel is ideally placed for Pompei’s main attractions, and the town’s cafés and restaurants are nearby. We stayed three days and would happily choose it again. The manager and staff went out of their way to make our visit pleasant, and breakfast had lots of well-prepared choices.

The room was spotless, easily the cleanest hotel room I’ve stayed in, and breakfast was quite nice and included in the room price. The hosts, Gaetano and Ottavio, were the real highlight. They were the most helpful, friendly, and welcoming hosts I’ve ever met, and Ottavio gave us really good restaurant recommendations. The location is great, close to the Pompeii ruins, city center, and train station. I’d recommend the hotel without hesitation. The room fridge is stocked with assorted drinks that cost extra. Keep in mind that anything taken from it has to be paid for in cash at the end of the stay, not by card. It didn’t affect our visit, but some people may want to know beforehand.

The room was nice and clean, and we had a good breakfast. The archeological park is very close, about 10m on foot, and they let me leave my car there after checkout, until 6PM. One employee really stood out by giving my little daughter a bunch of flowers. So kind. The manager was just as kind. He gave me a map for the park and marked several good restaurants on it. At checkout, he gave me another map showing the route to Amalfi coast and was concerned because the road is tough and crowded. He felt like a father, always looking after my family. It was a fantastic experience, and I’d like to stay at this hotel again 100%!
