Pietreionne

Giovanna had everything lined up before we arrived: a vineyard visit, a pasta-making class, and wine tasting with antipasti. My husband and I had such a good time. Chiara taught us to make pasta, and Marika, her soon-to-be daughter-in-law, surprised us with a tour around Ponte. The food was excellent, too. I only wish I’d had more room in my suitcase for their wine and olive oil! It was our first agriturismo stay, and Pietreionne was beautifully appointed, with a very comfortable room. Giovanna was always there when we needed her, and her service was stellar. The family works hard, treats guests graciously, and makes for great hosts. The pool looked lovely, though it was too chilly to use in early May. A presto!

The aperitif was a lovely start, with Fibula DOC sparkling wine and a well-chosen plate of local cured meats and cheeses. We later had a relaxing soak in the jacuzzi, followed by a light lunch made with excellent ingredients, many grown there or obtained from trusted local suppliers. Laura greeted us with unusual kindness and professionalism, which made the day even nicer. We spent the day unwinding at Pietreionne Agriresort. The clear pool and peaceful setting make it easy to settle into a wellness mood. The price felt entirely reasonable for what’s offered, and you can see the care that goes into the details. We’ll definitely come back, and look forward to it.

The wines and food were excellent, and Daniele, the owner, was a knowledgeable, friendly guide. We visited the agriturismo today with a package that included lunch and a tasting of three sparkling wines. It’s a really interesting place. The weather wasn’t great, unfortunately, but we’ll come back, maybe in June when the pool is open.

After a long day of traveling, we skipped dinner in town and had a double aperitif instead, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and scenery. The place is quiet, and the two people running it were very kind and friendly. A nice stop for travelers or anyone else looking to spend a day among the vineyards and take a refreshing dip in the pool.
