The abrupt, rude staff and lack of hospitality really spoiled the birthday weekend we were celebrating. As we finished dinner around 9:45, we were told to wrap up and leave the table quickly because they needed to set up for breakfast. The owner, I presume, did the same thing during breakfast the next morning, telling us it was checkout time and we had to leave immediately. When we asked about having lunch and using the pool for an hour after checkout, the answer was an absolute no. We were also scolded for not signing the Covid form, even though no one had given it to us. I wouldn't recommend the place to friends on account of that treatment. The agriturismo itself is nice, with a lovely pool, outdated but clean rooms, and a delicious dinner, but the staff's manner made it clear they didn't care about our future business.

The owners are the sort of hosts we'd want at a truly homely B&B, and we love you. We spent eight days with them and their warmth made up for any drawbacks from the age of the place. They were pioneers of B&Bs in Lunigiana 30 years ago. Marino and Graziella are fantastic people, and Graziella's pesto will stay in my memory. And Barbara, their daughter, is a wonderful young woman with an eclectic personality. We'll carry you in our hearts ❤️. This is for future guests who want a genuinely homely B&B. There was a lot of potential here, but a little work on the furnishings, upkeep, service and a smile could make a big difference. The building sits beautifully in a valley, and the stay starts off well. Then the welcome feels neither warm nor cold, just short on smiles, followed by explanations of lots of rules and prohibitions. The room is plain and purely functional. The pool is pleasant, and although we noticed the train runs through the garden, it wasn't actually a problem. The terrace and garden could use maintenance and more charm to make them enjoyable. The white plastic clothes dryers placed in front of each room are probably useful, but they're very ugly. We didn't get to try the food because we didn't know it was available.
