La Limonaia

The garden terrace is beautifully kept, and every room looks out onto it, with what has to be one of the island’s best views. The rooms themselves are very comfortable. Annalucia and Antonio are one of a kind as hosts, so welcoming and incredibly generous with their help. We already want to return as soon as we can.

The view was good, and a few homemade pastries at breakfast were enough to earn the place one star from me. The rest was disappointing: the rooms smelled, had very little furniture, and the mattresses were uncomfortable. Our quadruple room had a bathroom with no window and barely enough space for one person, never mind two. Breakfast was poor apart from those pastries, with what seemed like discounted items. Add the roughly 100 steps to reach the lemon grove, and the price feels far too high for what you get. We would have left straight away if not for the view. A bad experience.

We had a dream weekend. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the highlight was the garden above the sea. Such a fairytale view, and a peaceful place to have breakfast. The property itself is nice and clean.

The location is beautiful, and Mrs. A.L., who welcomed us, was attentive and very helpful. The property seems to have had its heyday, though; it could do with a refresh and more care for the garden. The price is high, but that’s normal for Ponza.
