Villa Adele Ponza

My experience with Villa Adele was awful, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend it. Booking.com was how I reserved, though I strongly suggest calling the property directly. I contacted staff several times because my hydrofoil was cancelled due to rough seas, something beyond my control, but got no empathy or attention. I never asked for all the money back for the two nights. I only requested either a 50% partial refund or the chance to use the stay another weekend. They turned down both options and wouldn't discuss it. The way I was treated made it worse: the person on the phone was arrogant, kept interrupting me, and even hung up. There isn't an official website or contact information by email or certified email, which feels opaque and unprofessional. They showed no seriousness or respect for customers. Never again!

It's an extremely inconvenient spot at the top of a promontory, and there's no shuttle service. The rooms are old and cramped, with no closet. Everything was awful. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you don't want to get ripped off.

That tiramisù was the biggest letdown. I’ve never seen anything like it in my 60 years: two ladyfingers soaked in coffee with whipped cream from a can on top. We’d thought bad tiramisù couldn’t exist in Italy, but this proved otherwise. The food wasn’t all bad, yet the quality didn’t come close to justifying the price, especially for that dessert.

That view over Ponza harbor was the best part of breakfast, with fresh seasonal fruit, croissants, and cappuccino and coffee made fresh. We stayed two nights, and the staff were lovely, kind, and always around when needed. Our room was very nice and looked out over Ponza. It had a double bed, a small bathroom, hangers, clothes pegs, a TV, and working air conditioning. The hotel is 10 minutes from the harbor, and they also offer a shuttle and luggage storage. We’ll definitely come back.
