The rooms were a really relaxing place to come back to, with beautiful scenery outside the windows. Hotel San Lorenzo also has a great spot right beside the castle, friendly service, and a lovely breakfast. We had a peaceful, enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend it.

We spent two weeks here in October 2023 and loved the view of the valley from our room. Popi castle was just a short walk away, which was wonderful. The staff were friendly and courteous, and breakfast was simple but filling. We’re looking forward to coming back.

Poppi’s castle and its medieval village make a great base for exploring, and this historic building is well placed for a visit. It’s easy to reach by car and has a lovely view. Everything was very clean, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were kind and helpful. Highly recommended, do give it a try!

The valley view from the room is lovely, and the bed was comfortable. The location is excellent and the staff are nice, but the room felt pretty basic for the price. There’s no air conditioning, just a fan for summer, and no mini fridge. The shower wasn’t great either: the door doesn’t close properly and the water pressure is odd. I’d have liked fresh fruit at breakfast.

The rooms have frescoes from the early 19th century. It’s a comfy little hotel just below Poppi castle, with gorgeous views across the hamlet of Poppi and the Casentino Valley.
