B&B da Ronald...a Pian del Papa

The view from the property is gorgeous, but our stay ended after the first night, even though we'd paid for two nights with breakfast. When we returned from dinner, we opened a cabinet in the common area, which was open, intending to pour a little liquor and borrow a teacup. The owner and his partner confronted us, shouting and calling us thieves and "kleptomaniacs" (their word), then made us leave after midnight with nowhere to go. We apologized immediately and more than once when we understood they were offended, but they dismissed those apologies. If we'd mistakenly accessed a cabinet we weren't meant to use, it could have been discussed calmly. We wouldn't have repeated it. Pouring and drinking from the liquor cabinet was all we did, and it didn't justify being yelled at and forced out like that. The owners refused to refund us; the booking website eventually reimbursed us and flagged the property over safety and security concerns. As brown guests, we were also spoken down to in a dismissive, humiliating way. The owner said he had "watched us on the cameras" (his words), and we felt monitored throughout our time there. We had asked why he hadn't spoken to us when this happened earlier that day, but he didn't answer, saying instead that he'd watched and monitored our every move on camera, as if we were potential thieves rather than paying guests. As of August 12th, there were no camera signs posted. The owner may accuse guests and remove them for what feels like any random reason. Customer service was awful. I can't give zero stars, though that's what the experience called for. I've never had a stay like this at any of the properties we've been fortunate to visit over the years.

We had a lovely private place with a great view across Tuscany and an excellent dinner. One warning: the Google Maps coordinates are off by 5 km. It's west of Pratoveccio, not southeast. Search for Coffia, Tuskany. I've reported the problem to Google.

A really nice place.

It's an older B&B near Pratovecchio Stia, and the property shows its age. The exterior is the nicest part. It's not far from town, but getting there means driving on a rough, partly unpaved road, and there's no signage. I'd say it's enjoyable only in the warmer months.
