Residence Marilise

We spent a week in a two-room apartment, probably the first guests after its renovation. There were still lots of things the place needed. Even so, we had a good stay: it was close to the town center and beaches, and there was free parking right outside.

The tenants are very friendly and helpful. Parking in front is convenient when there’s a spot available. The furnishings are modest and a little dated, but the place is still excellent for a stay, right near central Porto Azzurro in a quiet spot away from the possible city chaos. There are around ten apartments in the building, and the walls are thin, so noisy neighbors could be a problem and it may be hard to keep things quiet.

The location is convenient, but parking is a real hassle. It can be hard to find a free spot, and on our last night we waited 45 minutes before giving up and paying. If you have heavy luggage, keep in mind there are stairs to climb with all your bags. The apartment was decent and fairly clean, except for the sewer smell that hung around all week despite our keeping the windows wide open day and night. I don’t know if every apartment is like that, but number 10 was unpleasant.

The apartment is clean and well kept, and works well for four people. It’s near the center and two supermarkets, with parking outside the building. Finding a spot isn’t always easy, but with some patience someone will leave. Even though evenings can be a little noisy, I’d still call it a quiet place. A few things would make it better, especially for a longer stay: an oven or microwave, a washing machine, a clothesline, and some other small details.
