Romazzino, A Belmond Hotel, Costa Smeralda

The staff were the real highlight. We had two one-year-olds with us, and everyone was kind, gracious, and smiling, making us feel at home. Belmond Romazzino was an 11/10 experience, with a dreamlike property full of Italian charm and the Belmond touch. The food was unforgettable, from truffle fried eggs and pomodoro to flambé prawns and suckling pig. The pool, gym, beach, and bar with live piano all had their own vibe and added to the magic.

The visit to la terrasse at the hotel on July 19th was a big disappointment for my family and me. We'd been very satisfied with The Belmond Hotel chain before, so we expected much better. Our waiter suggested the most expensive dishes, but the food we got was disgusting, some of the worst Italian food we've ever tried. They also brought the bread, which was meant to come before dinner, only after our starter. The furniture was very old, and the tables felt cramped together, even though more than half the restaurant was empty. We wouldn't return.

The newly renovated rooms where we stayed had a stunning old-school luxury feel, and the hotel and grounds are beautiful. The beach is gorgeous too. A must-see if you're heading to the south.

Antonio, the manager, went above and beyond for my husband and me during our stay at the Belmond. It's a lovely place to unwind on holiday, with incredible views and a beach.
