B&B La Giara

The room had what we needed, a good mattress, and a comfortable bathroom. But the property sits at Salento’s busiest roundabout, and with the old window frames doing little to block sound, the manhole cover rattled whenever cars went over it all night. We’d agreed by phone with management to check out at 11:30 a.m.; then at 9:45 the cleaners knocked forcefully and said they hadn’t been told about the later checkout. We didn’t meet the owners, since check-in was done through an instructional video about collecting the keys.

The manager and staff were all very kind and helpful, and the sheets and towels were changed every two days. There’s a little shared terrace at the entrance with two tables and chairs, plus a couple of drying racks. The room was very nice, though it only had two small windows, one in the bedroom and one in the bathroom. The B&B is two minutes from the sea, with restaurants, a pharmacy, a supermarket, and other shops nearby. I’d definitely recommend it.

The staff were really kind and helpful, and I’d gladly stay here again. It’s close to the sea, nightlife, and everyday places like a pharmacy, bar, and supermarket. The only little drawback for me was the pillows, which felt very uncomfortable, though that’s personal preference. I’m sure the owners would have changed them if I’d mentioned it, but I didn’t want to bother anyone.
