Residence Kalura

The location was great, but the service was awful. We booked four nights in Porto Cesareo at the end of our Puglia holiday through last-minute.it. The quoted price only needed the optional sheets and towels added, and the booking couldn’t be cancelled. Then, the day before we arrived, when it was too late to find somewhere else and we couldn’t get a refund, a woman contacted us to say we’d have to pay extra on arrival for utilities and cleaning, plus leave a security deposit. I won’t give her name for privacy, and I’m not sure whether she owned the place or managed it for someone else. No one had told us about those charges. We argued that it didn’t seem fair to pay utilities and cleaning on top of rent, and wondered what the rent covered if utilities, cleaning, and linens were all excluded, but by then there was no time to find another solution. On arrival day, we’d been stressed all day trying to find out the arrival time even though we had already communicated it, then waited more than half an hour for someone to open the door. We had no gas lighter, the shops were closed, and we needed to cook food for the baby. When we got the stove lit, it malfunctioned and seemed dangerous: even on low gas, flames 5-10 cm high came out. The next day, two young men came to clean and spoke rudely, ordering us to tell the girl in the apartment immediately that they had come to clean. The apartment itself was clean and spacious and the location was very good, but I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
