The house is in a handy spot for exploring Torre Lapillo by car, and the free beach is only a two-minute walk away. It's narrow and crowded, though. People arrive late and put their umbrellas almost right beside yours, leaving barely any privacy. We found it best to go down early to set ours up, then come and go from the apartment. The streets nearby have supermarkets, bakeries, detergent and souvenir shops, a pharmacy, butcher, fishmonger, Conad, bars, and places to eat. The sea is beautiful, though you need to watch the winds and currents in Puglia. Porto Cesareo is very pretty for an evening walk and dinner, about five to ten minutes away by car. We had a wonderful holiday. We stayed for a week in a lovely residence, in a small first-floor apartment with a terrace, table and chairs, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. It slept three, with a double bed and a cot beside it. We were comfortable, but I couldn't get past the laundry setup. There was no washing machine, drying rack, or pegs in the apartment, which seems impossible for a beach house with kids. The only washer was downstairs and shared by the whole residence, and it needed tokens. You had to put one in for the bleach cycle and another for your own wash. I never used it. One shared machine for everyone just doesn't work for me.

The apartment was peaceful, spotless, and in a great spot near both the beach and town center. Parking right beside it was easy, too. Francesco deserves a special mention for being so friendly and ready to help with anything. We just got back from a week in Torre Lapillo, and my little girl didn't want to leave.

The sofa bed was a backache waiting to happen, just a miserable faux-leather couch with no mattress. There was pesticide powder all over the house and furniture when we arrived, but the ants stayed with us for the whole visit. We also had trouble with the appliances, so make sure they work from the first day. After we spoke to the agency about all this, we couldn't get a refund. They pushed us off until the end of the month and then abruptly hung up while we were on the phone. Thanks for nothing. Never again.

My husband Giacomo and I spent a week at Stelle Gemelle in Torre Lapillo, Salento, in September 2024. Mr. Francesco was wonderful and always available, and the residence was a great place to stay near the sea.

We spent three weeks here and found the property comfortable, spacious, very clean, and equipped with everything needed for a holiday. It's close to the center and a beautiful sea. Francesco and Mr. Gaetano were kind and helpful with everything, and we'd gladly return.
