Tenuta Nonno Carmine

We had a very satisfying stay. Our apartment was spacious and clean, the garden was lovely, and the beach was an easy walk away.

We’ve just come back, and we’ll remember this place for a long time. The staff were warm, courteous and incredibly helpful, and the estate felt like a peaceful little oasis. We stayed in Salento in a romantic, relaxed setting, with plenty of space and privacy. The rustic decor had real taste, and the garden was fabulous, full of calm and serenity. There’s a walled, safe, spacious area with fun things for children, which is a real help for parents. Mrs. Pina’s cooking was the highlight. We ate breakfast there all week and had two dinners on the estate. We’d planned to try the area’s best-reviewed restaurants, but Pina’s dinners were far better, and cost less. Her pasticciotti and crostata were wonderful too, with fresh, authentic ingredients. The property is just steps from a beautiful free beach/lido, and a short drive from Punta Prosciutto and Torre Lapillo, making it a good base for exploring or staying put for the whole holiday. Our room was spacious, and parking was numbered within the estate, partly shaded by trees. The electric gate opens with a personal remote. We’d give it 5/6/10 stars if we could. Thank you!

After seven years away, we came back to Tenuta Nonno Carmine and found the place just as magical. The hospitality, smiles and professionalism were still there. This time we discovered the garden, with its many wooden tables, and had excellent breakfasts with delicious homemade cakes. Breakfast was offered as a welcome treat. Our studio apartment felt like home and was clean and tidy, with full privacy. Each apartment has its own parking spot. There are washing machines, barbecue areas, outdoor showers for rinsing off salt and sand, a small bar, and lots of fig trees where you can pick the sweetest fruit. The sea is just over 300 meters away, with crystal-clear water and one of the area's most beautiful beaches. Free beach space is unfortunately getting more limited, while the private beach prices feel too high for the services. Torre Lapillo is a few kilometers away, Porto Cesareo about half an hour, and Lecce 40 minutes. This place really gets into your heart and starts to feel like home.

I’ve barely left and already wish I were back. The property is peaceful, private, romantic, clean and welcoming, with cozy, well-kept rooms and excellent food. Staff were friendly, available and made us feel at ease. There’s reserved indoor parking, and the beautiful beach is only a five-minute walk away. We had a wonderful weekend, relaxed but fun, especially with the event the property organized on the evening of August 15th. No cons at all. Everything felt five-star, and I’m planning to come back next year and many more after that.
