B&B Portoferraio

The bathroom has been redone, and there’s a TV now. We also found a nice courtesy kit in the room, plus fresh sheets and towels. The cleaning lady sanitizes and cleans every day, and is professional and kind with guests. There’s a newer Lavazza coffee machine with different pods and even croissants. The location is excellent, though value for money is average. For us, it’s a great choice. We’ve seen a big change.

We only stayed a few days, but got to enjoy the beaches of Portoferraio and would definitely return. The room was cozy and tidy, and the staff were helpful. The B&B sits by the Medici fortresses, below Napoleon's villa, with views of the "Fantastic Beach".

The setting is stunning, but that’s about the only thing going for this place. The shared bathroom serves three other rooms, there’s little privacy, and the atmosphere felt unpleasant and dirty. Furnishings and linens are outdated, and the amenities don’t match the price. I wouldn’t recommend staying in this dump. The owner’s photos and descriptions aren’t entirely accurate, so don’t be fooled.

The location is very convenient if you don’t have much money, but the rest was DEPRESSING. The room is padlocked, the bathroom fixtures are broken, and the furnishings are tasteless. I’ve never seen accommodations this shabby, not even in the Third World. Breakfast is coffee or cappuccino with a croissant, and you pay the difference if you want something else. If I could, I’d give it half a star.
