The vineyard setting was lovely and peaceful, and the villa itself is nice inside. It’s a real shame the stay was such a mess. We were six friends staying at Villa Alessia this August. Before we even arrived, the Google address turned out to be completely wrong. The agency was our only contact, but couldn’t provide the right address either, so they sent a video showing the route from the Portoferraio port. Finding the house was difficult. The two showers were a problem from the start. One wouldn’t drain at all, so it couldn’t be used. The other leaked badly and flooded the bathroom. Water had soaked the door so much over time that it had warped and was hard to close. We told the agency and owner several times, but nobody dealt with it. They said the issue was recent, though earlier reviews suggest it had been happening for a long time, possibly years. When we said more than once that the stay had gone badly, both the owner and agency staff brushed us off with “It’s fine,” as if our complaints didn’t matter. Such a shame, given the relaxing landscape and the villa’s location. We definitely won’t be back.
