The beaches around Portoscuso are beautiful, and in May the area felt quieter than northern Sardinia, which made it lovely to explore. We had a wonderful stay at B&B L’Albero dei Limoni. Guiseppe took great care of us, suggested things to do nearby, and even helped us book one of the city’s best restaurants for fresh seafood. Breakfast was adorable and made with lots of love, with fresh fruit and tasty homemade biscuits among the choices. I was pregnant, so Guiseppe made sure I had ham cooked separately and thoroughly. I can really recommend visiting Portoscuso and staying at B&B L’Albero dei Limoni.

The host is the reason we’ll remember this trip so fondly. He made us feel at home, shared a map of must-see spots, and gave us tips that helped us find the area’s charm. One evening I mentioned wanting to try carbonara. Though it isn’t typical there, he contacted a chef friend, and that night we had a perfect carbonara and a custom vegan dish. He was also wonderfully thoughtful about my girlfriend’s vegan diet, preparing plant-based cheeses and spreads, while his mother baked delicious vegan sweets. The vegan choices were varied and so good, better than at home. We fell in love with Portoscuso and are already planning to return next year. We can’t imagine staying anywhere but B&B L'Albero Dei Limoni. The town is charming, its people friendly, and the surroundings peaceful and safe, with beaches, cliffs, and scenic walks. Our room was spacious, clean, fully equipped, and had a large bathroom and a nice terrace. Breakfasts were outstanding, with fresh fruit, local cheeses, cold cuts, jams, yogurt, and homemade treats, all beautifully prepared. They beat every restaurant we tried. From our first moment at B&B L'Albero Dei Limoni, we felt welcome. Thank you for the best holiday of our lives.

Giuseppe, you’re one of a kind, and meeting you was a real blessing. I’ll miss our morning macchiato and the thoughtful conversations. You picked us up at the bus station since we hadn’t rented a car, lent us a sun umbrella and beach towels for free, and shared great places to visit and eat. You even gave us a discount at the end, though I felt I should pay extra for all your care. Each morning you made us a different gluten-free breakfast just for us. The service was excellent, but more than that, you’re a kind-hearted person full of good energy. L’Albero Dei Limoni is a jewel, and I’m so grateful we got to meet you and stay there. Grazzie mille!

We chose the Family room, with two large bedrooms and a private bathroom. It connected to a big shared living room and kitchen, which opened onto a large terrace. The host also served a really nice breakfast, including fresh cake from his mother. This modern townhouse has several private rooms with modern bathrooms, and it felt like home. I had the most comfortable bed I slept in during my time in Sardegna. Thanks for having us!

My favourite B&B in Sardegna, and I only wish we’d booked more than one night. It’s a great base for trips to Porto Flavia, the Costa verde, the islands of San Pietro and Sant’Antioco, and the beaches farther south.
