The owner and his family made us feel so welcome, and we can't thank them enough for their kindness. Our train was badly delayed on the first day, but the owner waited for us even though we arrived late. La Lanterna Portovenere is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop and taxi stand. Our spacious, clean room had a beautiful waterfront balcony view of Palmaria island and the port. There was a mini-fridge, a tea kettle, different teas and cookies. Breakfast was included in the shared area, with fresh croissants, eggs, jams and more, and the owner offered cappuccini each morning. We loved staying here.

The harbor view from the balcony was breathtaking, and the apartment was spacious, spotless and in excellent condition. Even when the streets were crowded, the closed windows kept the noise out completely and gave us privacy and peace. The build quality was top-notch, and the two split air conditioning units made it easy to keep the temperature just right. The owner was extremely kind and even offered us breakfast although it wasn't specifically included. We also had a coffee and tea maker with tea bags, a small fridge and a TV. I'll definitely book this place again when we return to Portovenere.

They even welcomed our dog, a Czechoslovakian wolfdog, with pleasure. We stayed for 3 days on March 18, 19, and 20, and the hospitality was truly perfect. The apartment was very clean and well cared for, you could really smell it. From there, we had a splendid view of the Portovenere harbor, the Gulf and Palmaria Island. Breakfast had a lot of variety, and the room had packets of jams, cream, coffee and different herbal teas. We'll definitely come back!
