It seems like a family-run place, and the people were humble and lovely. We had a great stay and I definitely recommend it. At first, the man working there sounded a little unwelcoming on the phone, and we couldn't understand much of the conversation. In person he turned out to be very nice and humble. Our room looked out over the port, with a clear, amazing view, and they provided a mosquito machine for extra comfort.

We only stopped in for drinks, so I can't comment on the hotel. The balcony has a must-see view, with the castle entrance and the square within sight, about 10 metres away. The older woman serving us was lovely, and the cocktails were good quality, not watered down. The menu is limited, but what they do offer is good. Bar service was very good.

The shops and restaurants felt a bit geared toward tourists, so I'd put the focus on wandering the lanes and taking in the sea views. This is a genuinely medieval Italian borgo, with lovely doors, walls, little shops, and restaurants. Explore every corner and alley if you can, the views are amazing.

There are plenty of shops around the port, and being so close to the ocean means there's usually a pleasant breeze. I had a great time walking around here, it's a lovely place to visit.
