Dimora del Podestà

For our honeymoon, my husband and I stayed at Dimora del Podesta, and we had an amazing time. It’s on Positano’s main road, so a taxi can drop you right outside and you don’t have to haul your luggage up or down lots of stairs. The area is on the Fornillo beach side, a bit more local and less crowded than the main beach, with tons of great restaurants nearby. Breakfast was delicious every day, served on our private balcony. Staff can also make eggs and bacon if you ask. We’d love to stay here again one day.

The breakfast was great, and the people were attentive and kind. We were right on the main road, near a bus stop and the start of the stairs to Spiaggia di Fornillo. There were cups and glasses to use, drinkable water in the kitchen fridge, and even an honest bar. The restaurant downstairs was great too.

We loved the family-owned restaurant below the B&B so much that we ate there three nights, even though we usually don’t repeat restaurants on a trip. The prices were good, too. The location on the main road made stairs easy to avoid, and it was away from the crowds and day trippers. Our room was huge and charming, the bed was super comfortable, and the AC worked great. Breakfast was amazing and filling, so don’t plan anything too early or you’ll miss it. The place made us fall in love with Positano. Such a great price for all you get, and we’ll be back.

Concitta’s breakfast was the best part of each morning: fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, yogurt, coffee, croissants, and orange juice. Shops, restaurants, and bus stops are all within walking distance, and the beach takes about 15 minutes on foot, depending how fast you manage the stairs. I stayed in Positano for three nights and was glad I chose Dimora del Podesta. Pietro sent detailed directions from Rome, and on arrival the room and keys were ready to go. The room was spacious, with clean bedding and bathroom, and the semi-private balcony had a nice ocean view. Getting our luggage down the stairs to the hotel was the one hard part, though you can avoid it by taking a taxi. I’d recommend Dimora Del Podesta to anyone staying in Positano.
